Whole Wheat Banana Pecan Pancakes | Food With Love

December 1, 2017 , ,

You are what you eat and today I want to share with you how I eat my pancakes when I do.  Now I don’t eat pancakes all the time and if I do I usually have a very active day where I will burn off the carbs consumed in this meal, say explore an old rock quarry or mountain.  If that’s not the case I still eat them and adjust accordingly.  Remember food is not meant to control you and should never be that, everything in moderation cooked and prepared with love and you won’t go wrong is my motto.
What You Need
1 cup whole wheat flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp cinnamon
1/3 cup chopped pecans
1 egg
1/2 cup buttermilk
1/4 cup almond milk
1 ripe banana smashed
1 TBS unsweetened apple sauce
How To Do
  1. Sift dry ingredients together in a bowl.  Add pecans to flour mixture.
  2. Mix wet ingredients together until combined.
  3. Add wet ingredients to dry ingredients, mix until combined, mixture may be lumpy.
  4. While mixture rests preheat pan on medium high heat.
  5. Spray pan with cooking spray.
  6. Using a 1/3 cup measuring cup for batter, add to preheated pan.
  7. Cook for about 2-3 minutes or until bubbles start to form or the edges of the pancakes look dry.
  8. Flip pancakes over and cook another 2-3 minutes or until cooked.
  9. Top with warm berry compote recipe (click here for free recipe giveaway).
  10. Enjoy with a knife and fork!
I hope you enjoy and remember that when you eat a heavy carb meal to be sure that youRock Exploring wc are being active in burning the carbs that you consume off.  Remember that when you eat you are providing your body the nourishment it needs to move through the day.  If you don’t plan on moving so much then adjust your food consumption accordingly.
Much Love,
